There is one pose that we love for every bride, in every dress, of every shape. It's the over the shoulder with her bouquet in hand photo. This photo allows for anyone viewing the photo to see so many important details from the day that you never want to forget!
Most of the time, we highlight the back of dress. On some dresses this is the most beautiful part! There are so many different backs to wedding dresses. Some have buttons all the way down, some have an interesting neckline, and some have that gorgeous train. For some brides with strapless wedding gowns, we want to highlight her shoulders.
We also like to do some photos where the bride is looking towards the bouquet. This encourages the viewer to also look at the bouquet she is holding. It also allows us to get a good photo of the bride's lashes!
Another thing this pose does so well is highlight the hair do that the bride has chosen for her big day! Hair is one of the most important details of the day, and should not be forgotten! For brides with veils, the pose can capture the lace detail of the veil of even the train to it.
The over the shoulder pose also flatters any brides shape. It can give a side profile that gives the bride a slender look and adds length to her body. It also accentuates the shape of her dress.
Lastly, the photo allows for us to capture the venue the bride has chosen for her special day. Whether the bride is in a church or outdoors we can see the beauty in the place she has chosen. We also get to see the time of year she has picked for her wedding date. Sometimes we see the gorgeous green of spring, the flowers blooming in the summer, or the many colors of leaves the spring.
